New World Stories

INTRODUCTION

Greetings Tech Heads. For a while now I have been wanting to use our AI superpowers to make a short comic or illustrated story. So the aim of this project is to make a finished digital comic strip for adults. So the tasks I need to master to make this happen are:

> I need to be able to get help with making the story, script and storyboard.
> Need to be able to generate repeatable characters
> Decide on a visual style
> Keep everything consistent
> Write up every step into articles for my website

INSPIRATION

This is the part that is actually pretty nuts. This sounds made up, and the powers that should not be tell me the things I see are not linked. Do not believe your lying eyes they say hehe. So let’s start at the beginning to see what you think – either way I think it is a good setup for my story.

POPULATIONS OF DEER VACCINATED

Yup you read that correctly, vaccinating populations of wild deer. What could possibly go wrong? I do not expect any sane person to just take my word for this so here we go with some of the places I first found out about this.

DEVELOPMENT NOTES

MAIN MALE PROTAGONIST:

A prepper in his 30s, equipped for survival. He’s resourceful and always alert. Wears practical, rugged outdoor clothing and owns high quality survival tools like a knife, crossbow, axe, etc. Makes income solving problems for companies online meaning he can work from anywhere he has internet access – this also gives a means for him to get information that no one else may be able to access. Maybe this is where he finds out about the deer vaccination program.

MAIN FEMALE PROTAGONIST:

Also in her 30s but a couple of years younger, a skilled survivalist. Independent and intelligent, with a similar practical outfit and survival gear. The couple have been together for over a decade and, seeing the tyrannical onslaught on the horizon was getting ever closer, found the ideal partner in one another.

ZOMBIE DEER:

From a distance there is not too much to notice out of the ordinary. On inspection at a closer range however they appear decayed and rotting with distinctive white eyes lacking pupils. When in a herd they seem to act as a single intelligent unit, and are mainly active at night. When the deer eat brains this seems to regenerate some of the decay and rot, to get to the victims brains they stamp using their hooves to get to the soft brain inside. They pose a lethal threat and can only be stopped by a massive brain destroying injury.

SCIENCE HUNTING PARTIES:

Are the scientists and hunters that actually vaccinate the deer going to be shown in any image cells or will they just be referred to? As of yet, I am still undecided. In fact I see no reason that they need to appear, this way I can keep the amount of characters to a minimum.
I prefer the idea that they are just referred to, keeping the number of characters to a bare minimum. First attempt – so keep it simple.

HOME OFFICE:

A small but functional home office set up in the spare room. His office is a chair, small desk with laptop and headset, everything else is shelving units filled with Preppers equipment – vacuum packed foodstuffs, knives, camping gear, stoves, gas canisters, crossbow, survival gear, etc.

CAMPSITE:

A low-key but highly functional setup with the latest camping tools. Concealed to avoid drawing attention but equipped with everything needed for survival. As they are both capable survivalists the equipment they have is of a high quality and designed for the outdoor setting they are in.

SCIENCE HUNTER PARTY CAMP:

The old campsite could be a bothy, adding a sense of eerie isolation and mystery. It’s stocked with remnants from the scientists and hunters, including equipment, notes, and the crucial clipping about the deer vaccination.
The above note was what I thought at first but, thinking about it now and as mentioned in ‘Characters’ tab, now I think it may be best to just refer to the scientists that actually vaccinate the deer. Maybe they are just mentioned briefly in a web article/newspaper/clipping/found document/etc.

OPENING SCENE: CELL 001: SETTING THE SCENE:

Our story starts with our main male working on the computer and getting stressed out as a lot of computer systems are not working as they are meant to making his working day more stressful. He works from home, a spare room he uses as a small office.

SETTING THE SCENE: CELL 002: STRESSED! LETS LEAVE:

He closes the laptop and shouts to his partner of 13 years to grab her kit bag – we need to leave. I am stressed and also think something bad is about to happen. Let’s head out to the wilderness for a break from it all and de-stress.

FIRST DAY TIME ENCOUNTER:

Spotting a strange-looking deer from afar, creating a sense of unease and curiosity.

FIRST NIGHT TIME ENCOUNTER:

A suspenseful and intense scene where they’re attacked by a large, aggressive zombie deer, highlighting their survival skills and the threat posed by these creatures.

ARTWORK STYLE:

Inspired by Clive Barker’s graphic novels: Dark, moody, with a blend of horror and surreal elements. The artwork will be detailed, capturing the eerie atmosphere of the Scottish Highlands and the horror of the zombie deer. I like the artwork of Simon Bisley, so maybe a ‘Clive Barker and Simon Bisley suspense horror style
